Our Redeemer Lutheran Church & School

Groups and Organizations
Various groups have been formed in the congregation in order to serve the membership, as well as provide mutual support, Christian fun and fellowship:

The Ladies' Guild (LWML)

Members of this organization meet in the afternoon on the first Thursday of each month (except during the summer).  It offers close-knit fellowship for women of the congregation and provides many services to the congregation.  The Ladies' Guild also makes contributions to the Concordia Seminary Food Bank, assists in the seminary resale program, and sponsors a seminary student each year.

The Anna Guild (LWML)

Members of this group meet on the second Thursday evening of each month.  This group provides a way for working moms to be involved with LWML.  Their meetings consist of a bible study, business agenda and fellowship.  Babysitting is provided.

The Quilters
The Quilters are a part of the Ladies Guild.  They meet twice weekly to make beautiful hand-worked quilts, which they sell to raise funds for many projects of the congregation.

Parent Teacher League
PTL is made up of parents of Our Redeemer School children and assists with the many programs and special projects of the school in many ways.  It meets several times during the school year.

The Men's Club
The Men's Club meets on the third Monday evening of each month for fellowship and to plan its activities.  For several decades this group has sponsored a community dinner in October.  They make sausage twice a year for the dinner and again in March.

Mary of Bethany Guild
This group provides an especially valuable service by caring for the items for the altar, including the elements for Holy Communion.  A subcommittee of this group also coordinates placement of chancel flowers throughout the year.

Our Redeemer Youth Organization (ORYO)
Special activities fo the youth of the congregation are offered throughout the year.  The youth organization of the congregation is a member of the national Lutheran Youth Fellowship.  Besides local activities, many of the youth attend the state and national gatherings.  Special activities also take place at a banquet to which those completing Junior Confirmation classes, and their families, are invited as guests of honor.  ORYO is designed for youth in grades 9-12.  A Junior Youth Group, designed for youth in grades 5-8, is also available.

O.R.C.A.
Our Redeemer Christian Adults is made up of both single and married adults.  Its purpose is to provide fun and fellowship through its monthly activities.

The Sunshine Club
The Sunshine Club is a very active organization of retired people.  It meets on the fourth Tuesday morning of each month.  In addition to their regular meeting time they also have special activities, outings, and trips of one day or longer to promote fellowship.  Devotions are a regular part of its fellowship.

Ushers
Men of the congregation perform the many tasks required to see that the worship services are conducted smoothly and in good order.  A head usher and an assistant oversee the staff.  Men of all ages are encouraged to become a part of this service group.

Adopt-A-Plot
Members of the congregation have adopted small sections of the Our Redeemer properties for beautification and maintenance.  The plots range from whole gardens to small sections of the lawn to individual trees and shrubs.

Our congregation is made up of a diverse cross section of our community.  We encourage our members to be active in one or more of the present groups and to be innovative in organizing new groups with other members who share common interests.
